A growing number of interventions to support healthy ageing are being developed and implemented. While these interventions have many potential benefits, the literature has highlighted a range of ethical aspects.
We conducted a systematic review to identify these aspects. We analysed 92 publications. The characteristics of the healthy ageing interventions across the 92 publications can be seen in the figure next to this text.
What ethical issues did we identify?
Our analysis revealed 219 ethical issues related to healthy ageing interventions, categorised into 15 groups. These are shown in the figure below:
